Allocations and Verifications Officer needed in South west London Paying £23.51 per hr ref OR115853

Full time hours on a temporary basis

• Key Responsibilities Housing Allocations

  • Manage the allocation of social housing to eligible applicants in accordance with the Housing Allocation Scheme.
  • Advertise available properties through the Choice Based Lettings (CBL) scheme.
  • Shortlist applicants and assess eligibility based on housing need, qualification criteria and priority bands.
  • Make direct offers of accommodation where appropriate and manage the end-to-end allocations process.
  • Facilitate nominations to Housing Associations, Registered Providers and Housing Co-operatives.
  • Administer mobility schemes and transfer applications in line with relevant policies and procedures.
  • Ensure housing vacancies are allocated efficiently to minimise void turnaround times and maximise the use of social housing stock.

  Verification and Assessment

  • Assess and verify housing register applications, supporting documentation and eligibility criteria.
  • Conduct detailed investigations into housing circumstances, residency, income, savings, property ownership and household composition.
  • Undertake home visits where required to verify information and investigate housing need.
  • Identify and investigate suspected fraudulent housing applications and refer concerns through the appropriate channels.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure all assessments comply with legislation, policy and service standards.
  • Provide advice and guidance to applicants regarding housing options, allocations procedures and housing register applications.

  Stakeholder Management

  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with Housing Associations, ALMOs, Registered Social Landlords (RSLs) and other housing providers.
  • Liaise with internal departments including Housing Management, Homelessness Services, Temporary Accommodation, Adult Social Care and Children’s Services.
  • Support partnership working to deliver coordinated housing solutions and improve customer outcomes.
  • Act as a key contact for applicants, housing providers and other stakeholders regarding allocation and verification matters.
