Science Technician | Outstanding Secondary School |...
An Outstanding Secondary School in Islington is looking to appoint a capable and enthusiastic Science Technician to become part of its Science Department from October 2026.
The successful candidate will help keep the department running smoothly behind the scenes, ensuring teachers have everything they need to deliver engaging practical lessons and students have a safe environment in which to develop their scientific skills.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare practical work, experiments and demonstrations
Organise equipment and resources for Biology, Chemistry and Physics
Set up and clear away practical activities
Maintain laboratory equipment and report faults when necessary
Manage Science stock and monitor consumable levels
Prepare and store chemicals safely
Carry out routine laboratory safety checks
Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment
Work closely with teaching staff to support practical lessons
About You
You will ideally have previous experience working as a Science Technician or Laboratory Technician, with a practical understanding of laboratory procedures and health and safety.
We are looking for someone who is dependable, well organised and comfortable working in a fast-paced school environment. The ability to prioritise tasks and work closely with teachers is essential.
