Purpose of the Role:

To contribute to the Globe PI Team, meeting and exceeding its growth and profitability targets, while maintaining Underwriting discipline within the scope of the Binding Authority and Globe’s Underwriting appetite.

Responsible for underwriting and managing PI risks within defined authority levels, contributing to the profitable growth of Globe’s PI portfolio. The role focuses on technical underwriting, broker engagement, and portfolio management under the guidance of senior underwriting leadership.

Key Role Accountabilities:

Daily tasks include, but are not limited to:

o Reviewing submissions and providing quotes to brokers in line with the Globe Underwriting appetite and within the criteria set out in the Delegated Underwriting Agreement (DUA).

o Build and maintain existing and new Broker relationships

o Checking firm order slips meet requirements and formally bind lines.

o Review and agree endorsements.

o Send final slips for processing

o Produce MI to be shared internally or with capacity providers.

· Build good working relationships with capacity providers.

· Participate in regular team meetings to:

o Review our progress against targets

o identify and suggest improvements for growth areas.

· Delivery of daily tasks in a timely and accurate manner.

· Working compliantly with the Authority delegated by insurers.

Qualifications & Experience:

· Minimum 3 years Insurance experience, ideally in Underwriting.

· A strong understanding of the Professional Indemnity market and products.

· Minimum academic qualifications required: A-levels

· High level proficiency in MS Outlook, Word and Excel – PowerPoint experience can be beneficial also.

· Strong negotiation, influencing skills, analytical, verbal and written communication skills are valuable.

Person Specification:

Candidates should be motivated, success driven and enjoy working within a dynamic high performing team. They will need to be comfortable and capable of working with employees from other departments within Globe.

The successful candidate will need to have experience communicating with Brokers and providing articulate responses both in person and via email. As a trading underwriter the candidate must have strong technical knowledge, enabling them to underwrite accounts and suitably document their thought process.

The role will be hybrid, split between the office and working from home. As such you should have the ability to be self-motivated/disciplined.

Accuracy and attention to detail is critical as well as the ability to handle multiple priorities.
