Business and Money Print Editor
About The Role
A senior publishing role for an experienced and skilled editor and production journalist leading the publication of the Business and Money pages of The Telegraph by selecting the best digital content for the section and enhancing the standards of our print publishing.
You will ensure that our best digital content is published on print pages accurately and in an engaging and visually stunning way. Working as part of the wider print production team and collaboratively with the Business and Money digital publishing team, you will be capable of editing a print section and publishing stories with flair. You will be comfortable conceptualising layouts on the page and leading a team, and have a natural instinct for effective and best-practice use of visuals.
Reporting into Print Edition Editor.

Key Responsibilities
- Select the best digital content to place in their print section, and place chosen content into Naviga (the print content management system).
- Have an understanding of top stories from the desk and embrace digital article performance data to guide decisions.
- Monitor all digital copy available to repurpose and track content selected for the print edition, earmarking any content that is outstanding.
- Liaise with Digital Chief Subs and Lead Publishers to chase articles if required to meet deadlines.
- Prioritise the repurposing of articles alongside Senior Page Editors, and work with the Head of Print Production on copyflow status for relevant section(s) to ensure appropriate resourcing within their section.
- A keen awareness of the Telegraph’s print and digital audience and how to engage with each.
- Be comfortable subbing copy and being ‘hands on’ when necessary to meet print deadlines.
- A razor sharp eye for legally sensitive content to quickly refer for guidance.
- Ensure any legal changes/adds have been actioned.
- Proofreading pages as and when required.
- Own the management and development of Senior Page Editors, identifying capability gaps and putting development plans in place.
- Act as a mentor to Senior Page Editor and Page Editors allocated to the section.
- Recruit and hire new team members.
Key Skills
- Experience of newspaper section editing and leading a team.
- Significant time spent in the national press.
- Copy-editing, proofing, subbing and production to a high standard.
- Quick, accurate writing of headlines.
- Publishing skills, including knowledge of visual storytelling, infographics and a brilliant eye for photography as well as creative flair for info boxes, polls etc.
- Enthusiasm, imagination and knowledge of The Telegraph’s digital content.
- Ability to respond well under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines.
- Effective communication and collaborative skills.
- Experience working with Adobe InDesign.
- Strong news sense and judgment.
