SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant – Primary School – Westminster

A warm and inclusive primary school in Westminster is seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a student with special educational needs (SEN) starting ASAP . Role Highlights:
- Full-time, permanent position at a welcoming primary school in Westminster
- Provide 1:1 support to a student with SEN , including learning difficulties, autism, or other special needs
- Assist with individualized learning plans (ILPs) , ensuring the student’s needs are met and supporting their engagement in class
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to develop and deliver tailored learning activities
- Foster the student’s social and emotional development , helping them build confidence and independence
- Provide support with behavioural challenges , using positive reinforcement and tailored strategies
- Monitor the student’s progress , providing regular feedback to the teacher and SENCo
- Create a safe, inclusive environment where the student feels supported and encouraged
Experience & Qualifications:
- Experience working as a Teaching Assistant , preferably in an SEN setting
- Experience working 1:1 with children with SEN (such as autism, ADHD, learning difficulties)
- Strong understanding of special educational needs and the strategies to support students in their learning
- Patient, caring, and empathetic nature, with a commitment to helping students reach their potential
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills , with the ability to collaborate effectively with staff and parents
- Enhanced DBS check required
