SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant – Primary School – Westminster

Role Highlights:

• Full-time, permanent position at a welcoming primary school in Westminster
• Provide 1:1 support to a student with SEN , including learning difficulties, autism, or other special needs
• Assist with individualized learning plans (ILPs) , ensuring the student’s needs are met and supporting their engagement in class
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to develop and deliver tailored learning activities
• Foster the student’s social and emotional development , helping them build confidence and independence
• Provide support with behavioural challenges , using positive reinforcement and tailored strategies
• Monitor the student’s progress , providing regular feedback to the teacher and SENCo
• Create a safe, inclusive environment where the student feels supported and encouraged

Experience & Qualifications:

• Experience working as a Teaching Assistant , preferably in an SEN setting
• Experience working 1:1 with children with SEN (such as autism, ADHD, learning difficulties)
• Strong understanding of special educational needs and the strategies to support students in their learning
• Patient, caring, and empathetic nature, with a commitment to helping students reach their potential
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills , with the ability to collaborate effectively with staff and parents
• Enhanced DBS check required
