Role OverviewAs an Associate Director in our Life Insurance Tax team, you will play a key leadership role in delivering complex tax advisory and compliance services to major life insurance clients. You will work closely with Partners and Directors to manage client relationships, lead project teams, and contribute to business development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage a portfolio of life insurance clients, delivering high-quality tax advisory and compliance services.
- Advise on a wide range of issues including Solvency II, IFRS 17, Pillar 2, transfer pricing, and corporate restructuring.
- Support clients with HMRC enquiries and negotiations.
- Mentor and develop junior team members, providing technical training and career guidance.
- Collaborate with actuarial, audit, and consulting teams to deliver integrated solutions.
- Contribute to thought leadership and represent the firm at industry events.
- Drive business development by identifying opportunities and supporting proposals and pitches.
- ACA, CTA, or equivalent professional qualification.
- Significant post-qualification experience in UK corporate tax, with a strong focus on life insurance.
- Deep technical knowledge of UK tax legislation relevant to life insurers.
- Proven experience managing client relationships and leading project teams.
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to identify and convert business opportunities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with international tax issues affecting insurers (e.g., BEPS, OECD Pillar 2).
- Life Insurance Tax specialist
- Previous experience in a Big 4 or top-tier accountancy firm is preferred but in-house experience is also recognised.
