The successful Economics Teacher will primarily teach A-Level Economics, helping students develop a strong understanding of microeconomic and macroeconomic principles.

You will cover areas such as markets, supply and demand, market failure, economic growth, inflation, unemployment, fiscal policy, monetary policy and international trade, depending on the specification followed by the school.

Lessons should encourage students to interpret data, evaluate economic arguments and apply theory to current and real-world examples. Strong written communication will be important, as students will need to develop structured responses and evaluate alternative economic viewpoints.

You will also contribute to assessment, examination preparation and departmental planning, ensuring students are well supported throughout their course.
