About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Trade Mark Attorney to join its London office. This position offers exposure to a wide range of trade mark matters, including applications, prosecution, contentious issues and brand protection. You will have the opportunity to manage a diverse portfolio of clients and play a key role in advising on both UK and international matters.
This position is open to candidates with a minimum of 2 years' PQE up to managing associate level.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage trade mark applications, from initial searches and filing strategies to registration and maintenance of marks across the UK, EU and internationally
- Provide advice on trade mark prosecution, oppositions and appeals, working closely with clients and external associates
- Handle contentious matters, including opposition proceedings, invalidity claims and settlement negotiations
- Advise on brand protection strategies, including domain name disputes, online enforcement and infringement actions
- Collaborate with both domestic and international clients to deliver strategic, commercially driven advice
- Take an active role in managing and developing client relationships, ensuring exceptional service and delivering clear and pragmatic legal advice
- Work as part of a collaborative team, supporting larger clients and managing aspects of their trade mark portfolios
- Stay up to date with the latest developments in trade mark law and apply this knowledge to enhance client outcomes
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified as a Trade Mark Attorney with experience in trade mark law
- A minimum of 2 years' PQE, with consideration given to candidates up to managing associate level
- Experience managing trade mark portfolios for clients across different industries and regions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex legal concepts for clients
- A commercial and proactive approach to advising clients on their IP strategy and portfolio management
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with a collaborative and client-focused attitude
- Strong organisational skills with an attention to detail and the ability to prioritise multiple tasks effectively
