King’s Professional & Executive Development (KPED) is a central directorate and business owner of Professional Education at King’s. KPED work with King’s nine faculties to deliver professional education to a wide international and domestic audience, partnering to design, develop bespoke educational programmes in line with King’s Vision. Our multimodal programmes include Continuing Professional Development, Executive Education, post-experience degrees and increasingly, stackable micro-credentials. We are a small, high-powered team in an exciting area of growth and development for King’s College London. Our portfolio is growing rapidly and expanding to include opportunities afforded through public tender, international educational consultancy, and market foresight.
About the role
King’s Professional & Executive Development (KPED) is recruiting Business Development Officer who will work within the Business Development team and be responsible for supporting the development of the university’s professional education portfolio. The successful candidate will work across King’s faculties, liaising with external and internal clients and overseeing programme-related development. This will involve a variety of activities including business development, contract drafting, proposal and tender support, budget drafting and people and project associated administrative activities.
KPED’s project portfolio is growing rapidly and expanding to include opportunities afforded through online and blended modalities. The post holder will be responsible for supporting those effective mechanisms to enable such activities to 1) run efficiently and mitigate risk 2) extend the King’s portfolio and 3) build King’s international brand.
The role is primarily based at King’s Strand Campus; however, the post holder may be required to travel to other locations on occasion, be prepared to attend events in the evening/at weekends and may be required to undertake national and international travel. All team members can work remotely for part of the week if they wish to do so, subject to the demands of the post.
This is a full-time post and you will be offered a fixed term contract ending in March 2027. This is a fixed-term role to provide a temporary backfill for a maternity cover.
