Description

We're looking for an experienced Clinical Risk and Patient Safety Consultant to join our growing healthcare team.

In this role, you'll work with healthcare organisations across the UK and internationally to help strengthen clinical governance, improve patient safety, and support quality improvement initiatives. You'll combine clinical expertise with strong stakeholder engagement skills to help organisations identify risks, enhance assurance arrangements, and implement sustainable improvements.

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior clinical governance, patient safety or quality improvement professional who enjoys solving complex challenges and influencing positive change across healthcare systems.

The Role:

  • Leading clinical risk, patient safety and quality improvement projects across a range of healthcare settings.
  • Reviewing governance, assurance and risk management arrangements to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Working with clients to develop practical recommendations and support implementation of change initiatives.
  • Building trusted relationships with senior clinical, operational and executive stakeholders.
  • Facilitating discussions, workshops and reviews to support organisational learning and improvement.
  • Contributing to thought leadership, client events and industry discussions.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality outcomes for clients.

Qualifications

What you'll bring:

  • Current registration with the NMC or GMC in good standing.
  • Extensive post-registration clinical experience.
  • Significant experience in clinical governance, patient safety, quality improvement, clinical risk management or healthcare transformation.
  • Experience leading investigations, audits, reviews or assurance activities.
  • Strong understanding of UK healthcare regulation, including CQC requirements and safeguarding frameworks.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to analyse complex information and translate findings into clear, practical recommendations.
  • Willingness to travel within the UK and internationally as required.

    Desirable

  • Experience across acute, community, mental health, primary care or independent healthcare settings.
  • Experience supporting organisations through regulatory inspection or improvement programmes.
  • Knowledge of digital clinical safety or healthcare technology risk management.
  • A postgraduate qualification in patient safety, clinical governance, healthcare management, quality improvement or a related discipline.
  • Ongoing professional development in patient safety, healthcare quality or risk management.

Enjoy a benefits package designed to help you thrive, both professionally and personally. You'll receive 25 days of annual leave plus an extra WTW day to relax and recharge. Our comprehensive health and wellbeing offering includes private healthcare, life insurance, group income protection, and regular health assessments, all giving you peace of mind.
