We are looking to recruit a Senior Trade Manager for our European DTC business, to lead the Commercial development and execution of the DTC strategy for GPN. The successful candidate will have responsibility for building the Commercial Strategy to drive sales and customer engagement across our DTC platforms, namely Optimum Nutrition – the world’s No.1 bestselling Whey Protein Powder. They will work closely with the broader DTC team, and partner closely with Europe In-Market Teams as well as Central Functions, to drive best in class collaboration and execution of the Digital strategy.
This role will be based in London, reports to the Head of DTC Europe, and sits within the E-Commerce Centre of Excellence – a team of 17 people based across Europe. The role will have 1 direct report and the remit will span across Europe so the candidate will need strong networking and communication skills to navigate and influence across a complex multi-functional and geographical stakeholder network. We are looking for an entrepreneurially minded, self-starter with a proven track record of delivering across a breadth of challenging roles and in digital environments. The candidate needs to be commercially minded, with a strong growth mindset and a natural ability to inspire and galvanize teams.
The Opportunity
A vacancy has arisen for a Senior Trade Manager in London or Amsterdam, on a permanent basis.
Key Accountabilities:
E-Commerce Strategy & Performance
- Develop and implement strategies to drive online sales and customer engagement.
- Monitor performance, track KPIs, and optimise the online shopping experience to maximise revenue growth.
- Drive the expansion of new DTC sites across Europe.
- Drive the Centre of Excellence (CoE) and commercial strategy to enhance trade performance, focusing on improving conversion rates and overall performance across all key markets.
- Develop & manage pricing strategies and promotional offers to drive sales, optimise margins, and remain competitive in the market.
Trade & Campaign Planning & Execution
- Design & execute digital marketing campaigns, promotions & product launches with local markets, aligning with their business goals.
- Coordinate the trade calendar across multiple regions (UK, FR, DE, SE, IE), ensuring consistency and maximising impact of promotions, activations, and key trade events.
Go-to-Market Strategy & Execution
- Define and implement go-to-market strategies for product launches, promotions, and campaigns.
- Establish KPIs and best practices to optimise market impact and improve efficiency across regions.
Inventory & Stock Management
- Collaborate with In Market teams, Supply & Merchandisers to ensure product availability and best in class customer service
Team and Stakeholder Collaboration & Alignment
- Coach, develop and manage 1 direct report
- Align with key stakeholders on goals, strategies, and timelines, ensuring successful execution of trade initiatives and campaigns.
Trade Reporting & KPI Monitoring
- Prepare and present (bi)weekly trade reports, monitor performance against KPIs, and drive follow-up actions based on insights gathered from trade meetings.
The Skills you will bring to the team
- 5+ years of experience in Commercial & E-Commerce roles, preferably with DTC experience. Demonstrate a proven track record of driving growth and optimising activities on e-commerce platforms ideally across multiple regions.
- In-depth understanding of managing and optimizing online sales, digital marketing strategies, and enhancing the customer experience across websites.
- Experience in developing and executing marketing campaigns, from planning to implementation and performance analysis.
- Experience in cross-functional collaboration, working with stakeholders across markets, marketing, merchandising, CRM, supply chain, and customer service to align strategies and goals.
- Expertise in managing and executing go-to-market strategies for product launches, promotions, and campaigns across diverse markets.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing pricing, bundling, and promotional strategies to optimise revenue and market share.
- Ability to create and analyse KPIs and trade reports to inform strategic decision-making and drive business performance.
- Experience managing a trade calendar across multiple regions and coordinating cross-market promotions and activations.
- Proven success in driving performance improvement initiatives and optimising the online shopping experience in eCommerce environments.
- Preferably, familiarity with leading eCommerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Tableau, GA4) and CMS tools.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and work effectively across regions and teams.
- This role includes direct line management responsibility, offering the opportunity to lead, coach, and develop at least one team member while contributing to a high-performing and commercially focused trading team
