Technical Product Manager

As a Technical Product Manager, you will be driving success of our Cloud based Enterprise Data Platform running on Azure and Microsoft Azure data Technologies. You will take accountability for the overall success and performance of the product. The role demands a focus on data management to interact with customers and guarantee the delivery of data-related requests. It will play a critical part in encouraging positive relationships with our clients and ensuring seamless communication between them and the data team.

A Day in the Role
Start your day with a team stand-up, aligning on priorities and removing blockers to keep delivery on track. You'll work closely with stakeholders to understand data-driven needs and translate them into clear, actionable plans. Partnering with engineers and architects, you'll help design and deliver scalable technical solutions that meet real business challenges.

Role Requirements
The successful candidate will be self-motivated with a desire to learn new skills and embrace new technologies in a constantly evolving environment. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in prioritising, meeting tight deadlines, and delivering high-quality solutions.
Minimum Criteria
We're looking for someone who has the following key skills and experience:
- Extensive experience in Data Product development on Azure Cloud stack including Databricks, Data Factory, Purview, PowerBI and APIM.
- Strong technical background, with an understanding of data management and data-related technologies, with an ability to drive engineering and architecture discussions.
- An in-depth understanding of the customer's experience, identifying and filling technical product gaps slowing down market success, whilst generating new ideas to grow adoption, improve customer experience, and quality of the products we deliver
- Understanding of consumption patterns and user journeys in the context of product usage.
- Demonstrable experience contributing to the development and implementation of data management strategy for the platform and ensuring that the platform is in line with the company's goals and objectives.
- Experience managing the cost-effectiveness of data platforms, ensuring that resources are used optimally to meet client needs.
Essential Criteria
We are interested in hearing from candidates who have the following capabilities:
- Experience establishing consensus on product visions both internally and with key external partners
- Demonstrable experience building and maintaining strong relationships with clients to ensure a positive customer experience,
- Extensive experience identifying potential opportunities for additional services or products
- Experience motivating and fostering product teams and collaborators to champion product vision, goals, strategy, and technical solution approaches taken
- Ability to manage cross-functional teams to ensure that delivery of business value to customers and business is always a priority.
- Establishing important metrics for measuring business impact with the ability to analyse and apply them in decision-making processes
- Providing Technical Growth Support for Data and Platform engineers to enable the technical growth of data platforms, including the implementation of new technologies and solutions.
- Analysing key data to identify issues and discover opportunities to improve the product
- Successful execution of data management strategies
- Delivery Management: Ensuring the timely delivery of requests from clients and the quality of the output.
Desirable Criteria
It would also be beneficial, but not necessary, to have some of the following:
- Experience working with Banking and Financial Services
- Basic understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, and Deployments to the cloud
- Ability to write application code and automated tests in alignment with team-adopted practices, fields, and quality guidelines
- Experience in unlocking commercial value from data

Salary and Benefits Information
We encourage flexible working, part time working and job share arrangements. Part time salary and benefits will be on a pro-rated basis as appropriate.
We offer a salary as follows:
Leeds circa £80,320 - £90,360.
In addition, we also offer a comprehensive benefits package as detailed below:
- Currently a non-contributory, career average pension giving you a guaranteed retirement benefit of 1/80th of your annual salary for every year worked. There is the option to increase your pension (to 1/65th) or decrease (to 1/105th) in exchange for salary through our flexible benefits programme each year. The Bank has the discretion to vary standard accrual rates and dial up and dial down rates at any time and to withdraw dial up and dial down options at any time.
- A discretionary performance award based on a current award pool.
- An 8% benefits allowance with the option to take as salary or purchase a wide range of flexible benefits.
- 26 days' annual leave with option to buy up to 12 additional days through flexible benefits.
- Private medical insurance and income protection.
National Security Vetting Process
Employment in this role will be subject to the National Security Vetting clearance process (and typically can take between 6 to 12 weeks post offer) and the passing of additional Bank security checks in accordance with the Bank policy.
