The Role
As Public Affairs Manager , you’ll be a vital member of our Media and Communications team, working at the centre of one of the world’s most significant sporting events. Collaborating with colleagues across Marketing and Communications, Strategic Partnerships and the Executive Office, you’ll drive impactful engagement with political, governmental and sector stakeholders across Scotland and the UK.
You’ll play a lead role in building advocacy, shaping narratives and positioning Glasgow 2026 within key national conversations, from Holyrood to Westminster and beyond.
Job Summary:
You will lead the development and delivery of our Public Affairs plan that aligns with the wider media and communications strategy, whilst building and managing relationships with stakeholders across Holyrood, Westminster and local government; including MSPs, MPs, Peers, Select Committees, APPGs and local political leaders.
Working closely with colleagues in Strategic Partnerships, you’ll build relationships and strengthen engagement with ministers and civil servants, maintain accurate stakeholder mapping and support senior leaders by preparing research and briefings for high-level engagements.
You’ll also plan and deliver engagement events such as panels, roundtables and webinars, advise on content for external advocacy communications, represent the organisation at meetings and contribute to our monitoring and intelligence gathering to inform colleagues and senior leadership.
Key Skills and Experience:
To succeed in this role, you will bring significant experience in public affairs within Scotland and/or Westminster, ideally gained in major events, consumer brand or sport organisations.
You will have a strong track record in stakeholder engagement, political engagement and project management against deadlines, budgets and quality standards. You’ll have an excellent understanding of the Scottish and UK political environments, supported by a well-established network and demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Salary: Starting salary is £45,000. Salary offered will be based on demonstrated skills and experience related to this role.
