Senior Research Executive
Description
This is a demanding role in a rapidly growing global Company.
It is typically “all-hands-on-deck,” as our cross-functional teams give full support to challenging projects across countries and continents.
Because our team is light, and we work in a virtual, agile way, you will find yourself collaborating with team members in Australia, Europe, the Americas, and across the greater Africa region. You will be working with multi-national clients and contributing towards co-developing creative, technology-based solutions to their biggest business challenges.
Working across a range of industries, supporting diverse business needs including branding, communications, strategic planning, customer experience, product development, and consumer behaviour, you will be part of the team ensuring we deliver exceptional insights across quantitative research projects.
Responsibilities
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Reporting to the Client Service Director (Europe) , and a dotted line to the Head of Europe, your key roles and responsibilities would include:
RESEARCH DESIGN:
- Appraising client briefs together with the research team to understand client needs and business objectives.
- Working with researchers across the MDI network, inputting into survey questionnaire development, discussion guide preparation and mobile engagement task preparation.
- Designing and deploying discussion tasks on our mobile platforms or communities.
- Liaising with Scripters to ensure the designed questionnaires work in real life scenarios. Ensuring script testing has been conducted thoroughly (self or through line report(s)) before deployment into field, to ensure an optimal consumer experience and no mistakes present.
- Assisting with reporting and visual aesthetics (advanced PowerPoint skills essential).
PROJECT MANAGEMENT:
- Assisting with managing projects from the design phase through to fieldwork, data extraction and reporting.
- Ensuring specific tasks are completed to the project schedule.
- Highlighting any project management concerns with line management to ensure seamless client service.
- Managing other research suppliers, such as coding, data processing and recruitment agencies.
- Managing quotes and costs for research tasks and prepare project costings for your directors to review.
- Building strong relationships with suppliers to ensure the best project outcomes for MDI.
- Schedule and participate in regular project planning and review meetings.
REPORTING & INSIGHTS DELIVERY:
- Working with team members to assist with all elements of reporting, such as the analysis requirements, inputting data into charts, checking data in the charts, assisting with report commentary and summaries.
- Providing insight recommendations that align to the client’s research and business objectives.
- Presenting research findings to clients and their stakeholders.
- Working relatively independently, you will be responsible for creating client reports that provide actionable insights and findings on each research project conducted.
DATA ANALYSIS:
- Review data with the foresight to reduce data error rates through improved QA processes, achievable with consistent application of existing QA procedures.
- Data cleaning, weighting, merging and analysis of occasion level and respondent level data sets.
- Advanced modelling including segmentation, driver, volume and value analysis.
- Complete data cleaning and basic tabulation within 2 working days of fieldwork completion for 95% of projects.
CLIENT MANAGEMENT, GROWTH & ACQUISITON:
- Building strong relationships with existing clients and delighting them by consistently delivering above expectations across all projects.
- Work with the Director to secure new business opportunities from existing clients (upsell/cross-sell) to support revenue growth through account expansion , based on current account size and client engagement levels.
- Acquisition of at least one new client over the first 12-month period.
Requirements
- 3 years’ experience in a research agency. ( a must )
- Previous qualifications in the field of sociology, statistics, anthropology etc. would be beneficial.
- Robust agency side - market research experience with a solid understanding of quantitative research processes (online/ mobile beneficial) and some knowledge of qualitative research.
- Fluent in English – is a must.
- Project management skills: hands on end-to-end in managing projects from inception to completion, ensuring seamless execution and comprehensive delivery of results.
- Questionnaire design and programming , data checking and reporting experience.
- Digitally savvy – working knowledge of PowerPoint (advanced skills a requirement), Advanced Excel. Preferrable to have SPSS or any statistical programmes. Analysis of information through Dashboards: Power BI, Tableau, Displayr etc.
- Proactive communicator: a strong communicator with good presentation skills, capable of conveying complex research findings in a clear and compelling manner.
- Attention to detail must be strong.
- The ability to work within tight deadlines.
- A strong team player, with flexibility to work collaboratively as well as autonomously.
- Proactive problem-solver , but not afraid to ask for assistance.
- Analytical Skills : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
