Kitchen Porter/Kitchen Assistant
Draughts is a trailblazer in experiential hospitality, redefining board games for a modern audience. Our mission is to entertain our customers with amazing food and drink whilst providing a healthy balance between the analogue and digital world. We do this by creating welcoming spaces that encourage people to be present and connect with each other, playing any of the 1000 unique board games on our shelves.
Our venues are uniquely designed to provide the perfect intimate atmosphere to enjoy our great service, food and drinks and games experience.
Purpose
As a Kitchen Porter at Draughts, you keep the heartbeat of the kitchen steady. You make sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes: clean, organised, and ready for service. You take pride in supporting your Kitchen Manager and Line Chefs, keeping the kitchen spotless, safe, and stocked so the team can focus on delivering great food.
Your consistency, care, and teamwork create the foundation that makes every guest experience possible.
What You Will Do
You’ll take ownership of keeping the kitchen clean, safe, and well organised. You’ll wash and store equipment efficiently, manage waste correctly, and make sure the kitchen always feels calm and ready for service.
You’ll support the chefs with deliveries, storage, and stock rotation, helping to keep ingredients fresh and prep areas running smoothly. When needed, you’ll assist with basic food prep, helping the team stay one step ahead during busy shifts.
You’ll follow all food safety and hygiene standards, report issues quickly, and work with care to keep the kitchen compliant and efficient.
What We Are Looking For
You take pride in doing things properly. You’re reliable, proactive, and understand that a great kitchen starts with teamwork and attention to detail.
You’re positive under pressure, quick to help, and comfortable juggling different tasks through a busy day. You communicate clearly, work with care, and are proud to play your part in keeping everything running smoothly.
What You Get
At Draughts, you are part of a team that values creativity, curiosity and connection. We are a growing brand with big ideas, and you will have the chance to shape how we evolve. You will be supported in your development, encouraged to bring ideas to the table, and surrounded by people who care about what they do. We work hard, we learn together and we have a lot of fun doing it.
And yes, there are always games. Lots of games.
