Environmental Graphic Designer (Wayfinding)
Profiles Creative are working with a leading design agency known for delivering art-led, culture-driven design projects for some of the world’s most exciting brands and institutions. The studio specialise in creating environmental graphics, art installations and branded spaces that transform environments and tell meaningful stories.
They are now looking for an Environmental Graphic Designer (Wayfinding) to join their London studio, working across a wide range of spatial, environmental and wayfinding projects from concept through to installation.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a strong conceptual designer who enjoys working across the full creative process, from early research and ideation through to detailed development and delivery.
The role
As an Environmental Graphic Designer, you will work closely with the wider design, production and project teams to develop creative concepts for physical spaces. Projects can range from one-off installations through to large-scale environmental branding, workplace design, interiors and wayfinding schemes.
You will be involved in the full lifecycle of projects, including research, concept creation, design development, artwork and collaboration with fabrication partners.
Typical responsibilities include:
- Working on multiple projects at different stages of the creative process
- Visiting sites and working closely with clients to understand spaces and briefs
- Developing conceptual ideas, sketches and visual directions
- Designing environmental graphics, signage and wayfinding systems
- Preparing artwork ready for production and installation
- Collaborating with Design Directors, Production teams and external partners
- Presenting ideas to clients and stakeholders
- Supporting and mentoring more junior designers
About you
We’re looking for a designer with strong experience in environmental graphics and environmental design , who enjoys working conceptually but is also confident delivering projects through to final production.
You must have experience working on environmental design projects. This could include anything from office environments and workplace branding through to bespoke interiors, spatial design, signage, exhibitions or wayfinding systems.
You should have:
- A degree in Graphic Design or a related discipline
- Around 5+ years’ experience in a design studio or agency environment
- Strong experience working on environmental graphics, spatial design or wayfinding projects
- Experience working on environmental design projects, from offices through to bespoke interiors or branded spaces
- Strong conceptual thinking and visual storytelling skills
- Excellent Adobe Creative Suite skills
- Great attention to detail and organisation
- Confidence presenting ideas to clients
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- A collaborative attitude and interest in mentoring junior designers
Experience working on wayfinding systems, architecture or spatial branding would be highly beneficial.
