Construction Disputes (Professional Indemnity) Principal Associate | Top 50 UK Law Firm | City of London A leading UK law firm is looking to appoint a Principal Associate to join its highly regarded Legal 500 Tier 1 Professional Indemnity team, as part of its expanding national Construction Insurance practice, in London. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced construction disputes or professional indemnity lawyer to develop their career within a market-leading insurance disputes team, working on complex and high-value matters for an impressive portfolio of insurer clients. The role will give you the opportunity to:
- Act for leading insurers, MGAs and Lloyd's syndicates on complex construction-related professional indemnity matters.
- Defend claims brought against a broad range of construction professionals, including architects, engineers, contractors and consultants.
- Manage a varied caseload of complex and high-value professional indemnity claims, from inception through to resolution.
- Advise insurer clients on construction insurance coverage and policy issues.
- Develop and strengthen long-term relationships with sophisticated insurer clients.
- Work alongside experienced Partners and senior lawyers on strategically important and technically challenging disputes.
- Play an active role in the development of junior lawyers and other fee earners through supervision, mentoring and knowledge sharing.
- Contribute to the continued growth and profile of the Construction Insurance practice.
- A proven track record of managing complex, high-value professional indemnity claims.
- Strong technical and analytical skills, with the ability to identify practical and commercially focused solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and sound judgement.
- The confidence to influence, negotiate and build trusted relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Excellent organisational, time and matter management skills.
- The ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively within a national team.
- A proactive and adaptable approach, with the initiative to identify opportunities and drive matters forward.
- A genuine interest in supporting, supervising and developing more junior members of the team.
