Senior Associate – Reputation, Privacy & Crisis Management

William James Recruitment is instructed to recruit a Senior Associate to join a highly regarded boutique law firm specialising in reputation, privacy, and high-stakes disputes.

The Firm

Our client is a dynamic boutique law firm recognised for advising entrepreneurial clients, corporate leaders, and high-profile individuals across the globe. The team combines legal strategy, investigative rigour, and coordinated crisis management, offering bespoke advice tailored to the sensitive and urgent nature of the work. Clients include: entrepreneurs, philanthropists, sports club owners, FTSE 100 companies, Fortune 500 clients, cryptocurrency exchanges, and senior executives.

The Role

The Senior Associate will:

• Lead on complex, high-profile matters, often with international dimensions
• Deliver advice on reputation, privacy, defamation, data protection, crisis management, injunctive relief, and regulatory/comms coordination
• Project-manage litigation and multi-disciplinary crisis responses
• Mentor and supervise junior lawyers, maintaining technical and procedural excellence
• Contribute to the smooth running of the firm, including capacity planning, compliance, billing, and process improvements
• Support business development, market visibility, and relationship building within the firm’s network
• Participate in knowledge sharing and contribute to internal training

About You

The ideal candidate will:

• Be a qualified solicitor with significant experience in reputation, privacy, or litigation
• Have a track record in high-pressure, high-stakes disputes
• Be comfortable managing urgent matters outside standard hours, including evenings and weekends, where required
• Bring intellectual rigour, commercial pragmatism, and a proactive, solutions-focused approach
• Be a natural mentor and leader, capable of developing junior colleagues and shaping practice strategy
• Thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a collaborative and ambitious mindset
