Fund Accounting Oversight Manager

We’re hiring for a Fund Accounting Oversight Manager role at Royal London Asset Management (RLAM).
This is a high-impact position, focused on owning and shaping our fund accounting oversight capability. You’ll lead through influence, stakeholder management and oversight, partnering closely with our outsourced provider to ensure robust fund pricing, reporting and delivery across the RLAM fund range.
You’ll have meaningful scope to strengthen and embed the existing framework, enhance controls and lead and develop an established team, while acting as a key point of contact for senior stakeholders across Investment, Operations and Client teams.
We’re looking for someone who brings strong fund accounting expertise (across fixed income/equities), commercial judgement and the confidence to challenge and lead, with experience or interest in structures such as CLOs and ETFs a plus.
About the role
- Lead the day-to-day management of fund accounting oversight activities (operated internally and/or outsourced).
- Own the Fund Accounting Oversight Framework, including monthly reporting and oversight of TPA service delivery.
- Oversee accounting and reporting for collective investment funds (including CLO & ETF related structures), ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
- Support investment audits, disclosures and management information requirements across Group funds.
- Provide input into the technical accounting set-up for complex products and propositions.
- Attend due diligence events and present to prospective clients where required; provide technical support for new product initiatives.
- Deliver agreed reporting requirements in accordance with client service level agreements and the relevant regulatory framework.
- Lead, develop and engage the team to maintain high-quality service and continuously improve processes and productivity.
- Build effective partnerships with internal stakeholders, external clients and outsourced providers to meet business needs.
- Collaborate positively and with appropriate urgency to meet Investment, Client Group and Trading needs.
- Partner with other support areas to optimise the use of technology and enhance the operational control framework to support business growth.
- Ensure compliance with the RLAM Risk framework and regulatory expectations and contribute to the development of the operations control environment.
About you
- Qualified Accountant or Actuary with relevant Fund Accounting experience
- Proven leadership and management experience is essential for the role
- Outstanding business partner to investment, distribution and trading areas
- Deep technical knowledge of Fund Accounting
- Ideally exposure to Oversight functions and associated control frameworks
- Regulatory awareness, understanding impact of current and future changes
- Understanding of trade lifecycle and investment management processes
- Ability to network effectively externally
- Good influencing and persuasion skills
- Strong customer-focused communication skills
- Strong people management skillUnderstanding of investment instruments including: equities, fixed income, money market, derivatives (futures, options, swaps, CFD, CDS, etc)
