We are seeking a dynamic Music Teacher to join a forward-thinking Performing Arts department at a highly regarded secondary school in Hackney. Whether you are an EQT or an experienced practitioner, if you can bring the curriculum to life through performance, composition, and technology, we want to hear from you.
The Role
Music is the heartbeat of this school, and you will be responsible for fostering a love of sound across all key stages.
Curriculum Delivery: Teach engaging KS3 lessons and deliver high-quality GCSE and A-Level Music (or BTEC Level 3).
Extra-Curricular Leadership: Lead school choirs, orchestras, or contemporary bands, and coordinate seasonal concerts.
Modern Integration: Utilize Music Technology (Logic Pro, Sibelius, or GarageBand) to engage students in modern composition.
Diverse Repertoire: Incorporate a wide range of genres, from classical and jazz to grime, world music, and pop.
The Candidate
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): A degree in Music and a recognized teaching qualification.
Instrumental Proficiency: Strong keyboard or guitar skills are highly desirable for classroom demonstrations.
Hackney Energy: A teacher who thrives in a fast-paced, urban environment and values inclusive, community-focused education.
Results-Driven: A track record of (or the potential for) achieving excellent results at Key Stage 4 and 5.
