Ward Leader, Cardiac Recovery Unit

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Senior Sister / Charge Nurse on our Cardiac Recovery Unit. Cardiac Recovery is a six bedded recovery unit that care for patients immediately post cardiothoracic surgery. Cardiac Recovery works closely with both our High Dependency Unit and our cardiothoracic ward (Victoria & Albert).
We are looking for an individual with excellent communication, managerial and leadership skills to lead and develop our busy unit. Your leadership style will be critical as you positively facilitate, coach, drive and support all staff within your team. Through strong clinical leadership the Senior Sister / Charge Nurse will support the team to promote excellence in nursing care and maintain and improve clinical standards.
In collaboration with the Matron and other members of the senior theatre and cardiac management team, the post holder will be closely involved in the planning, delivery and implementation of patient care.

Main duties of the job
This role will support the delivery of high quality care to cardiothoracic patients in the period immediately after surgery. This is a highly specialised level 3 area.
