A supportive Secondary School in Havering is seeking an organised and proactive Attendance Officer to join its pastoral and administration teams. The school recognises the importance of regular attendance in supporting students' academic progress and works closely with families to address attendance concerns.
The Role
The Attendance Officer will monitor daily student attendance, maintain accurate attendance records and follow up on unexplained absences. Responsibilities will include contacting parents and carers, recording reasons for absence, identifying patterns of persistent absence and preparing attendance information for school staff. The successful candidate will work closely with Heads of Year and pastoral colleagues to support attendance improvement and ensure that relevant procedures are followed.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have strong administrative skills, good communication abilities and confidence handling sensitive information. Previous experience in a school office, attendance team or administrative role would be beneficial. Applicants should be organised, professional and comfortable communicating with families by telephone and email.
