Job Title: Teaching Assistant with SEN Experience
Location: Hackney
Contract Type: Long Term Position, Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4pm
Rate: 85-100 depending on experience
Closing Date: Immediate Start
A mainstream Primary school in Hackney provide an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all their students. They believe every child deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential and we are seeking a passionate and experienced Teaching Assistant to join their team and support their students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
The Role:
As a Teaching Assistant with SEN experience, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and personal development of students with a range of special needs. You will work closely with teachers and other professionals to deliver tailored interventions, support classroom activities, and ensure that every child has access to a high-quality education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with SEN, addressing their individual needs and learning goals.
- Assist teachers in planning and delivering differentiated lessons and activities.
- Implement and monitor personalized learning plans and behavioural interventions.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports the social, emotional, and academic development of all students.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and external agencies to support students' progress and well-being.
- Maintain accurate records of students' progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
Requirements:
- Proven experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role, with a strong background in supporting students with SEN.
- Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 3 CACHE, Level 2 or 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent.
- Excellent understanding of SEN provisions and strategies, including knowledge of different types of SEN and effective intervention techniques.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
- Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and supporting diverse needs.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and a passion for making a difference in students' lives.
