What Does a Form F Assessor Do?
In collaboration with independent fostering agencies, your primary responsibility will be to safeguard the welfare of foster children by assessing prospective foster families. This involves:
- Conducting thorough assessments of potential foster families.
- Producing and presenting high-quality, evidence-based analytical fostering assessments.
- Applying your knowledge of child care legislation, including the Children Act 1989 and the Fostering and Adoption Act 2002.
Key Requirements
To excel in this role, you must meet the following criteria:
- Be a qualified social worker.
- Have significant post-qualification experience in relevant foster parent assessment work.
- Be registered with your country's applicable social work council (e.g., SWE, SSSC).
- Hold or be willing to obtain professional indemnity insurance.
- Be willing to attend a mandatory induction and training days.
- Have unrestricted access to your own transport and be willing to travel.
- Pass statutory and company checks as part of the assessment process.
- Ideally, have completed and presented at least one Form F Assessment to a Panel.
