Responsibilities

As part of the UK and Ireland Investment Banking team you will help advise listed and private clients on the full range of strategic transactions. Working across all sectors and product types, you will be involved in all aspects of regular client coverage and transaction execution, including as financial adviser and corporate broker to a large number of FTSE100 and FTSE250 clients.

  • Provide strategic financial advice to corporate clients including listed companies, private equity and founder back businesses

  • Undertake financial analysis including valuation, modelling, trading analysis and transaction comps

  • Assume responsibility for monitoring and advising clients in terms of macro events, sector news flow and company events

  • Support on transactions across the full range of strategic events including buyside and sellside M&A, de-mergers, P2Ps and private equity monetisations including IPOs (such support may include maintaining financial models, coordinating other advisers, due diligence and timetables)

  • Research on companies and industries and support on client initiatives including generating and developing new ideas to present

  • Formulate and develop client pitch-books and analysis in addition to supporting other bankers within the team

  • Build and maintain direct client relationships and also foster cross functional relationships with bankers in, sector, product and regional business units

  • Team player who enjoys working with a wide variety of clients and colleagues

  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills as well as proficient level of MS Excel and PowerPoint

  • Meticulous attention to detail, diligence and conscientiousness

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills – ability to build and maintain client relationships

  • Capable of working effectively both independently and with multiple teams/individuals

  • Proactive, self starter with genuine interest in the industry and financial services

  • Educated to degree level (preferably in a numerical discipline such as economics, finance or engineering)
