Marketing Manager - Community & Local Activation (Berghaus)
We’re Pentland Brands; a dynamic, global family business, and proud owners and licensees of many iconic active and footwear brands. With a community of over 1,300 team members worldwide, we embrace diversity and inclusion, and champion growth and development. Our success is built on teamwork, courage, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.
WHAT’S THE MISSION FOR THIS ROLE?
Berghaus is on a mission to build the most community-powered outdoor brand in the world. This role brings that ambition to life on-the-ground. As Marketing Manager – Community& Activation, you will be the heartbeat of Berghaus in the UK, connecting with local outdoor communities, creators, taste-makers, media, and cultural groups to ensure the brand shows up with relevance, credibility, and impact. You’ll activate Berghaus where it matters most: on trails, in cities, with creators, with local partners, and within the real communities shaping outdoor culture today.
WHAT DOES THIS ROLE DO?
You will be responsible for driving community-led brand activation in-market by:
Building deep relationships with local outdoor communities, creators, influencers, groups, press, retailers, and cultural partners.
Organising and delivering community-focused activations such as hikes, meet-ups, workshops, or creator-led experiences that strengthen Berghaus’ presence and connection in the market.
Identifying, briefing, and managing local content creators to produce culturally relevant content aligned to global product launches and storytelling.
Leading local product seeding across creators, athletes, media, and community partners to drive authentic product advocacy.
Activating Berghaus through local partnerships, sponsorships, and events that elevate brand relevance and help us win locally.
Sharing local insights, creator trends, community opportunities, and cultural shifts with the global team to shape future content and strategy.
Rolling up feedback, results and learnings from local activations to demonstrate impact on brand visibility, sentiment, and community engagement.
Ensuring all activity reflects Berghaus’ global brand identity, community-first principles, and compliance standards.
WHAT DO I BRING TO THE ROLE?
To stand out in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:
Proven experience in community management, creator partnerships, brand activation, or experiential marketing — ideally within outdoor, lifestyle, fashion, or culture-driven brands.
A deep understanding of local communities, cultural moments, creator ecosystems, and how brands can authentically show up within them.
A natural connector mindset — you thrive at building relationships with creators, outdoor groups, press, retailers, and community leaders.
Strong experience delivering on-the-ground activations, from community events to creator-led moments, product seeding, or partnership activity.
The ability to brief, guide, and manage creators or small production teams to produce high-quality, locally relevant content.
Strong organisational and project management skills across multiple activations, relationships, and timelines.
Collaboration skills — especially working with a global HQ for alignment, direction, content, creative assets, and reporting.
A passion for the outdoors, community-building, and shaping culture at a grassroots level.
