Mechanical Engineer
Working as part of a professional facilities team, you will take ownership of your work, ensuring systems operate to optimum performance levels while maintaining compliance with all relevant standards, regulations, and company policies. Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled inspections, preventative and corrective maintenance on all mechanical systems and equipment.
- Carry out fault finding, repairs, adjustments, and testing in accordance with manufacturer's instructions and best practice.
- Support mechanical installations, including pumps, valves, air source heat systems, fan coils, and AC units.
- Observe systems in operation, diagnose causes of malfunction, and implement timely repairs.
- Manage own workload effectively, prioritising reactive and PPM tasks to meet deadlines and service standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work carried out, including records, permits, and reports.
- Ensure all activities comply with health and safety regulations and company procedures.
- Oversee and monitor contractors where required, ensuring compliance and high-quality workmanship.
- Identify and recommend improvements to systems, processes, and service delivery.
- Strong background in mechanical building services maintenance within commercial environments.
- Experienced in PPM and reactive maintenance, plant room systems, and mechanical fault diagnosis.
- Knowledge of pumps, valves, soldering, fan coils, AC units, and air source heat systems.
- Experience with health & safety practices, risk assessments, and method statements.
- Evidence of competence in managing high-risk mechanical works and issuing permits to work.
