Scheme Support Officer
As Scheme Support Officer you will be responsible for providing housing related administrative support to residents, Scheme Manager and wider Housing and Asset teams across Octavia. You will be the first point of contact for all visitors and general queries and be responsible for the overall cleanliness, safety and security of the building.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting residents in setting up and maintaining home or tenancy in conjunction with Housing and Asset Management teams
- Maintaining, as far as possible the cleanliness, safety & security of the building at all times
- Supervising the domestic staff to ensure standards are met
- Assisting residents with managing finances and access to welfare benefits
- Assisting with provision of a programme of activities
- Providing administrative support to the Extra Care management team and reception service for the scheme
- Recording and reporting appropriate information concerning residents on designated systems
- Liaising with Adult Social Care, day care, health services, voluntary organisations and other individuals and professionals to provide support and opportunities for residents
- Ensuring that the confidentiality and dignity of all residents is respected in accordance with Octavia policies
- Raising any concerns regarding the safeguarding of residents
- Assisting management team to ensure adequate staff resourcing to deliver services
- Working as part of the staff team within the scheme assisting colleagues and liaise with other departments within the Association to ensure a consistent high standard of service
- Working as part of a team which may include some evening, weekend work and bank holidays
This role provides regulated activities under the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). Therefore, post holders are required to undertake a regular DBS check.
This role is based at James Hill House based in West London.
Requirements
For this position, we have listed the requirements we believe are essential for this role:
Knowledge
- Two years administrative experience in a customer service setting
- Good knowledge of using Microsoft Office Word, Excel, online ordering and IT systems to manage information
Experience
- Experience in collecting and analysing information, being up to date with what is going on in the organisation
- An understanding of housing and support issues for older people i.e. tenancies, welfare benefits, handling resident money
- Safeguarding vulnerable people and an awareness of the needs of older people with dementia, disabilities or learning difficulties
- Health and Safety and legal requirements in a supported housing setting
- Being a strong team player, approachable and helpful
Qualification
- Good standard of general education, including GCSEs in maths and English
