JOB PURPOSE

• We are seeking an experienced Tug Master to join our team on the River Thames.
• Role includes ensuring safe, efficient and compliant towage operations.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Safely command and navigate tug vessels.
• Conduct towage operations including ship assist and barge movements.
• Operate under the International Safety Management (ISM) Code.
• Promote strong safety culture.
• Lead, mentor and manage crew.
• Ensure vessel maintenance and reporting.

KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO DO THE JOB

Essential

• Valid Master's Certificate of Competency (STCW).
• Boat master Licence (BML) with towing & pushing endorsement.
• Yacht master Offshore with recognised towing endorsement.
• Local Knowledge Endorsement (Margaretness to Putney).
• Previous tug master or senior towing vessel experience.
• Thames navigation knowledge.
• Excellent ship-handling skills.
• Valid ENG1 or ML5 medical.
• Right to work in the UK.

• Coastal towage experience
