Job description

Power Your Curiosity at PA

Joining us as an Industrial Placement is a big step. Whether you’re coming from a specialist background or from an unrelated subject, we want you to be bold, stay curious and dive into the opportunities we have to offer.

Our People Make a Difference

When you join our team as a Placement, you’ll work on big things from day one. You’ll gain the knowledge and experience you need to build a successful career in consulting and contribute meaningfully to vital projects.

As cyber threats become more high profile and people become more aware of data privacy, organisations have an opportunity to differentiate themselves with outstanding digital trust and cyber security. As an Analyst you will help our clients build trust with customers and stakeholders by showing systems are secure, protect data from cyber-attack and comply with regulations.

You will work alongside our cyber security experts to spot digital and technology security risks and help identify the right controls to develop systems, processes and culture to keep data safe.

During your months as an Industrial Placement at PA, you’ll learn some of what it takes to be a top-notch consultant. You’ll be coached and guided by experts and have countless opportunities to broaden your experience on challenging projects and programmes.

You will help our clients build the resilience they need to get back to business with minimum financial and reputational loss when a cyber-attack does succeed.

A career at PA is what you make of it — so power your curiosity and prepare to make an impact.

The Offer

  • You will work to ensure our clients stay informed about threats and are able to protect their digital assets and business systems

  • Opportunity to work across all areas of the information security spectrum, from developing cyber security strategy to implementation of risk reducing security controls and technologies

  • You will be exposed to a variety of experiences which will build an outstanding career

  • A wide range of internal and external training programmes

  • We work flexibly at PA, but your work base will be our London Victoria office

  • This role will start in July 2025 and be for 12 months. We will confirm exact date at offers stage

  • Salary: £27,008 per annum

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Studying towards an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security or IT is preferred but we welcome applications from all degree disciplines

  • A passion for cyber security and a good grasp of the latest trends within the industry

  • Experience with information or cyber security (at business or technical levels)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey complex ideas effectively

We’re looking for people who are:

  • Adaptable and able flex their style and thinking

  • Curious and want to broaden their understanding of the world

  • Credible and comfortable working with clients in high performance environments

  • Driven to succeed — and help others achieve the same

  • Open to change and have a growth mindset

  • Relationship builders — with both clients and peers

  • Hungry for new challenges

  • Have an enquiring mind, with the capability for innovative and analytical thinking

We know the skill-gap and ‘somewhat need to tick every box’ can get in the way of meeting brilliant candidates, so please don’t hesitate to apply – we’d love to hear from you.

Apply today by completing our online application

Please be aware that some of our UK roles at PA Consulting require a UK security clearance.

All PA people are required to undergo background checks and to achieve the Baseline Personnel Security Standard however, some UK roles also require higher levels of National Security Vetting, where applicants must have at least 5 years of continuous residency in the UK.

We therefore ask that you only apply if you meet the residency requirements (i.e. you are a British citizen or have been resident in the UK for the past 5 years), as this is the prerequisite for a security clearance. If you're unsure about your eligibility, we encourage you to review the UK Government’s guidance on security vetting before applying.
