Graduate Pastoral Teaching Assistant

* A culture of professional development, with many former PTAs progressing to teacher training or mental health-related postgraduate study The Role As a Graduate Pastoral Teaching Assistant, you will work as part of the pastoral support team to help students overcome barriers to learning. Key responsibilities will include: * Providing emotional support and mentoring to students experiencing difficulties
* Monitoring attendance, punctuality, and engagement, and intervening where needed
* Supporting behaviour management strategies and restorative practices
* Building positive relationships with parents/carers and external agencies
* Promoting positive wellbeing and resilience through small group workshops and 1:1 support
* Assisting the safeguarding team in identifying and responding to concerns
* Working closely with the SENCo, Heads of Year and Designated Safeguarding Lead Ideal Candidate We are looking for a graduate who is: * Empathetic, patient, and emotionally intelligent
* Interested in adolescent mental health, behaviour, and social development
* A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
* Able to build trust and rapport with young people
* Proactive, adaptable, and keen to learn from experienced staff Degrees in Psychology, Sociology, Education, Social Sciences or related fields are especially welcomed, though all graduates with a genuine passion for supporting young people will be considered.
