Job Description

In this role you will work effectively to evaluate and report on external drivers and influences on HMLR’s demand and revenue, including assessing any variation against forecast and potential impact on organisational performance trajectories.

Working with the sub team lead and working closely with colleagues across the group, you will understand, manipulate and accurately analyse complex data to develop high profile reporting products and provide analytical/modelling insight for use at senior level across the organisation.

You will make complex information easy to understand for non-technical audiences, developing innovative tools to provide regular and consistent reporting outputs, within a supportive team focused on analytical rigour, automation and reproducible analytical pipelines.

This is a key role, where a wide variety of stakeholders will depend on you to deliver products with high quality data visualisation which meets their business area needs, and to draw out accurate and actionable insights from your analysis.

Person specification

To be successful in this role you will have One or more of:

  • Relevant skills, knowledge and application of Operational Research techniques (OR);
  • Qualifications to allow 'badging' to join GORS (Government Operational Research Service) in an analytical profession. Qualifications are a 2:1 in a numerate subject, and substantial experience of applying operational research or for GSS, a 2:1 in a numerate subject and substantial experience of applying statistics; for GDS, a 2:1 in a numerate subject and substantial experience of data science.


This Should Include

  • Experience of developing MI and analytical/modelling insight.
  • Experience of manipulating data and coding (using one or more of: SQL, R or Python).
  • Experience of using complex data to build dashboards or performance reports.
  • Evidence of at least one high profile analytical project you have managed.

You will have strong communication skills particularly in the presentation of analysis with impact. Have good experience of senior stakeholder engagement to understand needs and manage expectations. Selection process details

This vacancy is using Success Profiles (opens in a new window), and will assess your Behaviours, Ability and Experience.
