Job Opportunity : Locker Retrofit Technician

Location : London & Surrounding Areas (Field-Based)

Rate: £20-£21 per hour + Mileage
Hours: 40 hours per week
Engagement: Temporary Project Assignment (Approx. 15 Weeks)

Adecco are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for Locker Retrofit Technicians to support a nationwide smart locker upgrade programme. This is a field-based role covering sites across London and surrounding areas, with opportunities to support additional UK locations as the project expands. This position would suit candidates with experience in field service, installation, maintenance, telecommunications, vending systems, CCTV, electronics, or other hands-on technical environments.

Key Responsibilities :

As a Locker Retrofit Technician, you will:

• Travel to allocated locker locations and complete upgrade installations.
• Install and replace hardware components including cameras, alarms, cabling and protection systems.
• Carry out functional testing and quality checks to ensure lockers are fully operational.
• Follow installation procedures, technical documentation and site instructions.
• Complete digital reports, photographs and job records using a smartphone or tablet.
• Identify and escalate faults or issues that fall outside the agreed scope of work.
• Manage installation kits, stock and returned components.
• Maintain high standards of health & safety and quality throughout all activities.

What Our Client Is Looking For :

The ideal candidate will possess :

• Previous experience within field service, installation, maintenance or technical support roles.
• Confidence using hand tools and carrying out practical installation work.
• Experience working with electrical, electronic or electromechanical equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
• Good communication skills and a professional customer-facing approach.
• Confidence using mobile devices for reporting and job updates.
• A full UK driving licence and access to their own vehicle.

Desirable Qualifications/Experience :

While not essential, the following experience would be advantageous

• Smart lockers, parcel management systems or vending machines.
• CCTV, camera installations or security equipment.
• Telecommunications or networking equipment.
• Digital signage, kiosks or self-service technology.
• Electrical or electronic qualifications.
