Teaching Assistant – Mainstream & SEND Schools

Location: London
Start Date: Immediate / September
Contract: Full-time / Long-term / Flexible Supply
Pay: £90–£115 per day

TeacherActive is currently recruiting enthusiastic and resilient Teaching Assistants to work across a range of mainstream and SEND schools throughout London .

We are particularly interested in Teaching Assistants with experience supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, ADHD, Autism and behavioural needs .

As a Teaching Assistant, you may work 1:1 with individual pupils, within small intervention groups or alongside the class teacher , helping pupils to access learning, manage their emotions and behaviour, develop positive relationships and build confidence within the school environment.

The successful Teaching Assistant will:

• Have previous experience working with children or young people, ideally within a school, SEND, SEMH, youth work, mentoring or care setting
• Have experience or a good understanding of SEMH and ADHD
• Be confident supporting pupils with challenging behaviour and emotional regulation
• Use positive behaviour management and de-escalation strategies
• Build strong and trusting relationships with pupils
• Support pupils both academically and emotionally
• Be patient, resilient, reliable and adaptable
• Work effectively alongside teachers, SENDCos, pastoral teams and other professionals
• Have a strong commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing

Experience supporting Autism, ADHD, SEMH, trauma, anxiety, challenging behaviour or additional learning needs would be highly beneficial.
