About the Role
As a Site Assistant, you will work closely with the Site Manager to maintain the school buildings and grounds. You will help ensure the school is safe, functional, and welcoming for pupils, staff, and visitors.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the opening and closing of the school premises

  • Carrying out routine maintenance and minor repairs

  • Assisting with health and safety checks across the school site

  • Maintaining clean and safe outdoor areas, playgrounds, and pathways

  • Helping prepare classrooms, halls, and outdoor spaces for events and school activities

  • Monitoring heating, lighting, and security systems

  • Reporting maintenance issues and assisting with preventative upkeep

  • Liaising with contractors and suppliers as necessary

Experience and Skills

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience in site work, facilities, caretaking, or maintenance

  • Be practical, organised, and able to carry out minor repairs

  • Have an understanding of health and safety procedures

  • Demonstrate reliability and a proactive approach to site management

  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, contractors, and visitors

Experience in a school setting is advantageous but not essential, as full support and training will be provided.
