Director of Operations (Affordable Housing)
Thriving Investments is socially conscious fund manager focussed on the ‘living' sector. We invest across a range of housing tenures that deliver market returns to investors and social impact. We currently manage over 5,300 homes representing £1.1bn+ assets under advisory and have an ambitious plan to grow to £5bn+ through launching new funds and expanding existing funds.
Thriving Investments has a current team of over 25 people based across the UK with its main office in central London. It is supported by a board of non-executive directors from across the residential, sustainability and investment management sectors with access to support from other functions such as IT, Finance, HR and Facilities from its parent, Places for People.
One of our flagship strategies, ReSI LP, invests in affordable housing through ReSI Homes, a For-Profit Registered Provider of Social Housing. With over 2,000 homes delivered, or under construction and a clear pathway to 10,000 homes and beyond, alongside expanding its focus on shared ownership to include social rent, ReSI Homes is entering a critical phase of operational and organisation growth.
The role
We are seeking a Director of Operations to join Thriving Investments and be an Executive Director and Board Member of ReSI Homes.
You will provide strategic and operational leadership to ReSI Homes, ensuring it operates as a high-performing, resident-focused, safe and fully compliant Registered Provider. You will play a central role in shaping the organisation's next phase of growth as it expands beyond shared ownership into social and affordable rent.
This is a senior leadership role with direct accountability for regulatory performance, customer outcomes and operational delivery, alongside a strong interface with investors, partners and regulators.
This position is based out of London 3 days a week although we are open to alternative arrangements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Executive leadership of ReSI Homes' operational performance across existing and pipeline homes
- Board‑level responsibility for governance, regulation and assurance, including readiness for RSH In‑Depth Assessment
- Oversight of customer experience, complaints performance and service standards
- Leadership of managing agents and strategic operational partners
- Operational input into investment diligence, handover and grant compliance
- Development of operational budgets, business plans and investor reporting

More about you:
You will be a senior housing professional with experience operating at executive or board level within a Registered Provider or similarly regulated environment.
You will bring:
- A proven track record in shared ownership and social and affordable rent,
- Deep understanding of regulatory, compliance and consumer standards,
- Experience leading teams through growth, change and new tenure delivery,
- Confidence operating with board, investors, regulators and local authorities,
- A values-led, customer-focused leadership style
