The Role

As Business Development Director, your primary focus will be to drive new business for the group globally but with an EMEA focus. Demonstrating a growth mindset, you’ll identify key opportunities and secure partnerships that align with the agency’s strategic objectives. This role requires a dynamic leader who can nurture senior stakeholder relationships and build and execute on strategies to secure a strong pipeline of work - by generating business leads and converting these to wins. Ultimately meeting targets for revenue generation and securing revenue globally.

What you'll do

  • Strategic Planning for Business Development: work alongside the Vice President, Growth to develop and implement new business strategies that align with our overall growth strategy and the agency's goals and objectives; building a strong pipeline of new business, identifying opportunities for business expansion and revenue growth.
  • Owning incoming leads and inbound enquiries: validating incoming leads, setting up initial intro calls, owning the credentials - collaborating with the wider YS team to nurture these conversations from incept to closing
  • Pitch Leadership: Lead the development and delivery of compelling pitches, RFP’s and presentations, working collaboratively with the creative, strategy, and account teams.
  • Marketing : Oversight of marketing, supporting Marketing Manager and Client Services Director on creation of marketing content to support growth, utilising this content to engage with our network
  • Strategic Outreach: identifying key targets, creating the outreach strategy and ultimately executing it to engage the decision makers from these brands
  • Relationship Management: build and maintain strong relationships with prospective clients, travelling where necessary to build key relationships.
  • Maintain financial accountability: working closely with the VP Growth and demonstrating strong financial acumen, you’ll forecast and plan ahead, securing a sustainable pipeline of revenue coming from new partnerships
  • Being Data-Driven: owning the CRM system which holds our database, as well as tracking all the key metrics and data around new business that helps us track performance and drive decision making.
  • Market Research: stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and market changes to identify potential growth opportunities for clients and the company.
  • Works closely with the wider leadership team to support agency goals: regularly attends growth and sales meetings bringing valuable insights, suggestions and solutions, working collaboratively to support the agency’s growth and business objectives.
  • Supporting People and Planet as part of our commitment to B-Corp: working to ensure the work we do with clients considers environmental and social impact all the way through projects. About you

  • Experience : Proven track record in business development, sales, or client acquisition at director level, within the retail design, creative agency, or related industries.
  • Industry Knowledge: Ideally an understanding of the retail design & experience landscape.
  • Relationship Builder: Exceptional networking and relationship-building skills, with the ability to connect and build instant rapport with senior-level stakeholders.
  • Presentation Skills: Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
  • Strategic Thinker: Ability to think strategically and translate insights into actionable plans.
  • Collaborative Mindset: Team-oriented approach, with strong interpersonal and leadership abilities.
  • Results-Driven : Ambitious, self-motivated, and goal-oriented, with a focus on achieving measurable outcomes.
  • Technology Savvy: Proficient in CRM systems, sales tools, AI tools and Google Suite.
