Facilities Coordinator – Primary School – Hounslow

A welcoming primary school in the London Borough of Hounslow is looking to appoint an organised and proactive Facilities Coordinator to oversee the daily coordination of the school's premises, contractors and site operations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong organisational skills who enjoys working in a varied role that combines administration, facilities management and operational support.

Working closely with the Headteacher and School Business Manager, you will ensure the school's buildings and grounds remain safe, compliant and well maintained while coordinating planned maintenance, servicing schedules and contractor visits. You will also support the wider school community by ensuring facilities are prepared for the daily needs of pupils, staff and visitors.

The successful candidate will be highly organised, solution-focused and committed to maintaining an excellent learning environment.

Facilities Team

The Facilities Team ensures the school site operates efficiently each day by coordinating maintenance, health and safety compliance and site improvements. As Facilities Coordinator, you will act as the link between contractors, school leaders and the premises team while ensuring operational tasks are completed effectively.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating planned and reactive maintenance across the school.

  • Scheduling contractor visits and monitoring completed work.

  • Maintaining health and safety and compliance records.

  • Supporting statutory inspections and servicing programmes.

  • Monitoring cleaning and facilities standards across the site.

  • Reporting maintenance issues and arranging repairs.

  • Assisting with premises budgets and purchasing requirements.

  • Preparing facilities for school events and community lettings.

  • Maintaining accurate facilities documentation.

  • Supporting site security procedures where required.

  • Liaising with suppliers and external service providers.

  • Helping identify opportunities to improve the school's facilities.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring pupils and staff benefit from a safe, efficient and well-presented environment every day.

Requirements

  • Previous experience within facilities, estates or premises administration is desirable.

  • Excellent organisational and coordination skills.

  • Good knowledge of health and safety procedures.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to prioritise multiple tasks effectively.

  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Professional and proactive approach.

  • Commitment to safeguarding and maintaining a safe school environment.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
