Merchandise Admin Assistant

M&S
Central London

Are you a self-starter ready to pursue your first job in fashion? We're looking for a highly-organised Merchandising Admin Assistant to help our Clothing & Home team get the right product to the right stores at the right time for our customers.

You'll play a key role in this fast-paced and demanding environment, supporting your team with a variety of demanding administrative tasks. You'll be able to work autonomously and with others, digging into the data and analysing the numbers to help us make the right decisions. You’ll be confident to work across a number of complex IT systems to deliver the most fashionable ranges to our customers however they want to shop with us.

If you’re highly organised, obsessed with numbers, ready to tackle a challenging role in fashion and eager to learn, this could be the perfect role for you.

What’s in it for you

Being a part of M&S is exactly that – playing your part to bring the magic of M&S to our customers every day. We’re an inclusive, dynamic, exciting, and ever evolving business built on doing the right thing and bringing exceptional quality, value, service to every customer, whenever, wherever and however they want to shop with us.

Here are some of the benefits we offer that make working for M&S just that little bit more special…

  • After completing your probationary period, you’ll receive 20% colleague discount across all M&S products and many of our third-party brands for you and a member of your household.
  • Competitive holiday entitlement with the potential to buy extra holiday days!
  • Discretionary bonus schemes awarded based on how you achieve your personal objectives and our performance as a business.
  • A generous Defined Contribution Pension Scheme and Life Assurance.
  • A dedicated welcome to our teams with a tailored induction and a wide range of training programmes to develop your skills.
  • Amazing perks and discounts via our M&S Choices portal to maximise your financial and personal wellbeing.
  • Industry-leading parental, adoption and neonatal policies, providing support and flexibility for your family.
  • Access to a fantastic range of wellbeing support for all colleagues including access to our 24/7 Virtual GP and PAM Assist to support you and your family.
  • A charity volunteer day to support a charity or cause you're passionate about through a dedicated day away from work.

To stay close to customers, we expect our support teams to come into the office three days a week. We think that learning comes from working alongside each other, and that spending time with our teams makes us more creative and connected. It also means we can solve problems as soon as they arise, build trust, and get closer to our colleagues.

Your key accountabilities will include:

  • High levels of administration including sales, data and trend analysis, running daily sales reports, maintaining departmental records and handling PO processes to ensure timely and accurate delivery of stock.
  • Working closely with the Merchandiser and Assistant Merchandiser to respond to various ad-hoc administration requests.
  • Learning and owning internal IT systems to maintain accurate data through meticulous mapping.
  • Assisting in managing catalogues and creating range plans under the mentorship of the Assistant Merchandiser.
  • Developing positive relationship with suppliers, sourcing offices, and internal teams such as Buying, Allocating, and Stores.

Your skills and experience will include:

  • A minimum of an established Merchandise Admin Assistant in a fast-paced fashion retailer
  • Strong numerical, analytical and interpretive skills
  • Passion for M&S and the products we sell! Excited about being a key member of the team who ensures the right stock is in the right store at the right time!
  • Organisational skills
  • Initiate and build strong relationships with suppliers, stores and own team
  • Communication skills
  • Able to fully utilise the relevant IT support systems
