Senior Commercial Bid Manager
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Commercial Bid Manager to join our team. This role is crucial for managing and leading the bid process, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, competitive proposals that align with our business objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bid management, excellent communication skills, and a passion for innovation in deep tech.
WHAT YOU’LL DO (Duties)
- Bid Management: Manage the end-to-end bid process on high value, complex bids, including the development, coordination, and submission of high-quality proposals and tender responses.
- Strategy Development: Develop and implement bid strategies to enhance win rates and achieve commercial targets.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Business & Market Development, Marketing, and Solution Leads, to gather necessary information and ensure cohesive and compelling proposals.
- Proposal Writing: Write, edit, and review proposal content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and alignment with client requirements and company standards.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with bids, ensuring compliance with company policies and client requirements.
- Client Engagement: Engage with clients to understand their needs, address queries, and provide updates throughout the bid process.
- Performance Tracking: Monitor and report on bid performance, including win/loss analysis and feedback to improve future bids.
Requirements
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR (Experience)
- Experience: Significant experience in bid management, preferably within the consultancy or innovation sector. Demonstrable experience managing complex bids with values in excess of £5M
- Education: Higher educational qualifications to degree level would be beneficial. Ideally an APMP Practitioner
- Skills: Strong project management, negotiation, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Attributes: Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in bid management. Knowledge of public sector procurement is beneficial. Understanding of deep tech solutions and industry trends across our target sectors in Supply Chains and Sustainability.
