Working closely with teaching staff, you will ensure laboratories are fully prepared, safe, and well-resourced to enable high-quality teaching and learning. This is a varied and hands-on role suited to an organised, practical and proactive individual.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare apparatus, chemicals and materials for practical Science lessons
Support the delivery of experiments across Biology, Chemistry and Physics
Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure resources are organised and stocked
Carry out risk assessments and ensure compliance with health and safety and COSHH regulations
Clean, maintain and safely store equipment and chemicals
Assist teachers with lesson preparation and demonstrations where required
Order resources and manage inventory levels efficiently
Support the smooth day-to-day running of the Science department

Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
Previous experience as a Science Technician or in a laboratory environment
Knowledge of health and safety, COSHH and safe handling of chemicals
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Practical skills for equipment preparation and minor repairs
Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff
A proactive and flexible approach to work
