We’re now looking for a reliable and hardworking Yard Operative to join our team at our Camden branch .

The Role

This is a hands-on role where you’ll play an important part in keeping the yard safe, organised and running efficiently , while providing excellent service to our customers.

Working as part of a busy branch team, you’ll support the receipt, storage and preparation of timber, building, fencing and landscaping products for customer collections and deliveries.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Loading and unloading deliveries safely and efficiently

• Picking and preparing customer orders accurately

• Organising and maintaining stock within the yard

• Supporting customers with collections and loading purchases where appropriate

• Checking goods for quality and reporting any shortages or damage

• Working closely with branch colleagues, drivers and the sales team

• Keeping the yard, warehouse and surrounding areas clean, tidy and well organised

• Following all company health and safety procedures

• Using yard equipment responsibly and completing all required checks

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is practical, dependable and hardworking , with a strong focus on delivering great service to our customers.

You’ll need:

• Experience in a yard, warehouse, builders’ merchant, distribution or similar environment is essential

• A live forklift licence

• A positive, hardworking and reliable approach

• The ability to work effectively as part of a team

• Good attention to detail when picking and handling products

• A strong commitment to health and safety

• Good communication and customer service skills

• The ability to work outdoors in a physically demanding role

• Flexibility to support the needs of a busy branch

Working Hours, Salary & Benefits

• ⏰ Working hours: Monday–Friday between 07:00–17:00, plus 1 in 2 Saturdays from 08:00–12:00

• Salary: £30,175 per annum

• ️ Holiday: 25 days’ holiday plus UK Bank Holidays and an additional celebration day
