Located at Guys campus, The Faculty of Dentistry, Oral & Craniofacial Sciences is seeking to recruit a Programme Officer who will offer high quality administrative support to our postgraduate taught programmes.
About the role:
This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Senior Programme Officer in a busy and vibrant team within the Faculty of Dentistry, Oral & Craniofacial Sciences at Kings College London. This role would suit an experienced administrator ready for the next stage in their career. We welcome candidates from both Higher Education and other sectors.
The Senior Programme Officer will provide high-quality administrative, operational, and line management support for the effective delivery of on campus and distance learning PGTprogrammes. The role will involve coordinating key programme activities, including student administration, assessments, final year projects, face-to-face teaching arrangements, finance processes, programme planning, and student communications.
The postholder will work closely with Programme Directors, academic staff, professional services colleagues, students, suppliers, and external partners to ensure that processes are delivered efficiently and to a high standard. The role will also include line management of Programme Officers, including providing day-to-day guidance, supporting workload planning, monitoring progress, and contributing to staff development. The postholder will maintain accurate records, support continuous improvement of administrative procedures, and help ensure consistent and effective programme delivery.
This is a full-time position (35 hours per week) offered on a hybrid working basis with an indefinite contract.
About you:
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:
Essential criteria
- Excellent written and oral communication skills including the ability to draft documents and correspondence.
- Strong numeracy skills and ability to analyse complex numerical data.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities.
- Experience in programme administration within higher education or a similar setting.
- Understanding of finance administration, including tutor payments, purchase orders, invoices and supplier liaison.
- Proactive approach, with the ability to use initiative and follow up actions effectively.
- Ability to work with a broad range of stakeholders including academic staff, students, suppliers, and professional services teams.
- Experience maintaining accurate records, spreadsheets, reports, and process documents.
Desirable criteria
- Experience in the use of databases, student records systems (such as SITS) and website content management systems.
- Prior experience of leading a team successfully
