Job Summary
Responsible for developing and implementing Global Operations communication programs.
This role will be responsible for helping to shape and execute the Global Operations communications strategy for Equinix. Your job will be to create communication assets, approaches, and processes that drive the entire Global Operations organization to be engaged and do its best work. You will work closely with Equinix's Global Ops leadership, as well as the Corporate Communications, Internal Communications, Executive Communications, People Messaging, and Marketing teams, and key stakeholders in other functions as we scale and evolve.
Responsibilities
Refine and execute the Global Operations communications strategy to ensure that messaging is consistent, impactful, and aligns with company values, culture, and goals. Tailor the strategy for diverse teams and regions
Enable, influence, counsel and develop strong partnerships with the Global Operations Leadership Team and across the broader communications team, as well as cross-functional business leaders and the larger organization – especially as it pertains to integrating programs, amplifying key initiatives, and articulating priorities in and for Global Operations
Create and deliver Global Ops-specific communication to key stakeholders and target audiences, determining messaging, timing/cadence, audience and delivery channels, and ensuring alignment with audience needs and broader functional priorities and initiatives. Ensure messaging is clear, concise, and tailored to the audience (e.g., leadership, field teams)
Determine audience relevance of Global Ops and company initiatives and programs, coordinating with regional and local teams and revising content and/or translating, as needed
Ensure Global Operations leadership is connected with employees through regular updates, all-staff meetings/town halls, and other internal channels
Support communication efforts during organizational changes, incidents, or important transitions, ensuring that messages are transparent, timely, and consistent. Act as a trusted advisor on navigating sensitive situations with empathy and clarity
Manage and optimize internal communication channels to ensure effective distribution of messages across teams and geographies
Support diverse teams in all three regions with localized communications, ensuring that different cultures, languages, and time zones are considered. Foster a sense of connection among field or geographically dispersed employees
Uphold corporate and regional content governance and branding policies
Qualifications
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated writing ability that is engaging, organized and simple to follow. Experience with communications to field workers, and in the power/energy and or data center industry a plus
Proven years’ experience with global technology companies and a proven track record of managing high-impact executive, internal and external communications and/or change management programs
Ability to develop and leverage strong partnerships across a matrixed organization, harmonize various perspectives/objectives, provide sound counsel, prioritize, and deliver impactful outcomes for all audiences and stakeholders
Experience working in global or geographically distributed teams and understanding the nuances of communicating across cultures and time zones
Ability to work well under pressure while managing multiple projects, priorities, stakeholders and deadlines simultaneously in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Excellent follow-through skills are necessary
An independent, self-directed thinker with the ability to shape and drive strategy locally, formulate a clear point of view, exercise high judgment, and make an impact quickly
Poised executive presence with succinct presentation/facilitation skills, comfortable collaborating with and presenting to executives
Receptive to feedback and input from others and quick to apply changes with strong attention to detail
An agile, flexible individual with a “can-do” problem-solving approach
Experience in successfully articulating concepts and complex information in a concise manner through presentations, written communication, and across multiple channels
Confidentiality and business ethics; demonstrates outstanding judgment and discretion
Strong and confident leadership style
BA/BS degree in Communications or equivalent required
