Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant: Candidate Specification

We are looking for a Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant who holds:

• A 2:1 or higher degree from a Top-Leading University in a STEM subject (Math’s ,Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, Biology, Chemistry)
• Strong academic background throughout GCSE’S and A-levels
• Be well-organised, patient, and able to explain complex ideas simply
• Ideally have some experience working with young people (e.g. tutoring, mentoring, coaching, volunteering)
• As a Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant, you’ll bring a calm and resilient presence to the classroom, thrive in a collaborative team environment, and be driven by a genuine passion for helping every student reach their full potential

Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant: Job Role

As a Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting students across all Key Stages in your subject specialism. This includes:

• Running small group sessions and 1:1 intervention for students who need extra support or challenge
• Supporting teachers during lessons, helping to manage behavior and maintain high academic standards
• Assisting with preparation, marking, revision planning, and classroom resources
• Working closely with high-achieving and underperforming students alike, developing both your communication and subject expertise
