Sounds great, what will I be doing?
As a Community Engagement Coordinator, you will provide high-quality, person-centred support to adults experiencing moderate to severe mental ill health as part of a multidisciplinary NHS Community Mental Health Team. Working closely with clinicians, social workers, families and community partners, you will support individuals to identify and achieve their personal recovery goals, build confidence and strengthen their connections within their local community. You will hold a caseload of service users, helping to develop recovery plans, monitor progress and coordinate support that promotes independence, wellbeing and social inclusion.
You will build positive therapeutic relationships using trauma-informed and strengths-based approaches, supporting service users to access local resources, attend appointments and engage in meaningful activities that enhance their recovery journey. The role also involves working collaboratively with statutory and voluntary sector organisations, advocating for service users, maintaining accurate records and contributing to integrated, recovery-focused care. What do I need to bring with me?
You'll need to be able to demonstrate the core skills this role requires as well as match our values and mission. You don't have to tick all the boxes right away; the important thing is that you're willing to learn. We also value lived experience of the areas we support, so if you feel comfortable, please do mention this on your application.
You'll need experience working within a mental health setting, or hold an NVQ Level 4 in Care (or equivalent), together with a strong understanding of mental health, recovery and person-centred approaches.
