School Information
A welcoming primary school in Greenwich is seeking a highly organised Admissions and Transition Officer to support pupil enrolment and the transition of children into the school. The school aims to provide a positive and inclusive environment for pupils and families, recognising that an effective admissions process helps children settle confidently into their new learning environment.
The successful candidate will join the administrative team and work closely with senior leaders, class teachers, parents and relevant external organisations. This position would suit someone who enjoys working with families, coordinating information and ensuring that administrative processes are completed accurately.
The Role
The Admissions and Transition Officer will coordinate admissions administration, maintain accurate pupil records and support families throughout the enrolment process.
Responsibilities will include processing applications, responding to admissions enquiries, checking supporting documentation and ensuring that pupil information is entered correctly into the school's management information system. The postholder will monitor applications, follow up on outstanding paperwork and communicate important deadlines to parents and carers.
The role will also involve coordinating arrangements for new pupils, including transition meetings, introductory visits and the collection of information needed to support children's entry into school. The successful candidate will liaise with teachers and relevant staff to ensure that appropriate information is available before pupils start.
Where required, the postholder will support in-year admissions and transfers, ensuring that records are updated and relevant information is passed to the appropriate colleagues. They will also help prepare admissions reports and maintain records relating to pupil numbers and expected intake.
A key part of the role will be providing a helpful and reassuring service to families. The Admissions and Transition Officer will explain administrative procedures clearly, respond professionally to queries and help parents understand the steps involved in securing and accepting a school place.
The successful candidate will handle personal information sensitively and follow the school's safeguarding, confidentiality and data protection procedures.
