Team

- This team is responsible for all the surveys and qualitative / quantitative research they do for clients. - E.g. big brands come to the business to get insight into things like new products, market intel etc and want information from surveys. - They have thousands of people who they pay to respond to surveys (£1 / €1 per survey). - They use matching algorithms to match the right people to the right survey. - E.g. there is no use or value in putting people into a survey for coca cola who don't drink soft drinks!! it's wasted money but also no value and skews results. - Therefore, they need to manually match people to the right surveys. - it's big money and they want to automate it as much as possible. - the more they can segment survey responders the better accuracy they can make their surveys.

Responsibilities for the role

- they are going to be reponsible for optimising the current models, improving them and making them more efficient. - it's not just a matching problem, it's an optimisation problem. - as a result, they want people to come from an optimisation background. --- typical areas would be (1) dynamic pricing / pricing optimisation (2) yield optimisation / yield and revenue forecasting / yield curves (3) companies like comparethemarket or expedia who match customers to offers and optimise that process. - candidates must have curiosity .. they need to be able to reverse engineer these models and be creative to make them better. - kantar do millions of these survey matches every day - so big data.
