Job Title: Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant
- Location: London (Specific School Locations Disclosed During Interview)
- Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only (39 weeks)
- Hours: 32.5 hours per week (8:30am–3:30pm)
- Salary: £28,509 – £29,361 per annum (Scale 6, Point 18–20, inclusive),
The Role:
A reputable London special school seeks compassionate, dedicated, and adaptable Teaching Assistants to support children and young people aged 4–19 with Autism and complex Special Educational Needs. As a valuable member of the classroom support team, you will contribute to creating a positive and tailored learning experience for the pupils. Whether you have experience in mainstream or specialist settings, this role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
Your responsibilities will include assisting teaching staff with lesson delivery, implementing pupil-specific learning strategies, providing personal care if necessary, and promoting independence and positive wellbeing in learners. Each day presents unique challenges that contribute to the long-term development of these exceptional pupils.

- Have experience working with children or young people with autism or complex needs (mainstream experience also welcomed)
- Possess a calm, patient, and adaptable demeanor with a flexible attitude towards individual needs
- Demonstrate good literacy and numeracy skills, along with clear and confident communication abilities
- Are motivated to learn, open to new approaches, and enthusiastic about collaborative teamwork
- Exhibit strong professionalism and empathy in all situations
Formal qualifications in SEN or related areas are desirable but not essential. More important is your attitude, commitment, and willingness to grow.
