Senior Category Manager (Regeneration)

We're looking for a Senior Category Manager, Procurement (Regeneration) for a leading UK organisation based in London (hybrid) on an initial contract, paying up to £450 per day.

This is a hybrid role with remote working available alongside attendance at the London office as required.

The successful Senior Category Manager will lead complex construction and regeneration procurement workstreams within a housing and regeneration division, taking full ownership of procurement processes from strategy through to contract award. They will manage a small team of four procurement project staff and provide expert commercial guidance to internal stakeholders, covering major capital development contracts, professional services, and works procurements. The role also carries responsibility for risk management across the procurement portfolio and for embedding sustainable procurement principles throughout the contracting lifecycle.

You will need proven experience working with the following:

- End-to-end procurement of construction and regeneration contracts, including major capital works
- UK public procurement legislation and compliance with standing orders and financial regulations
- Drafting and managing tender documents, specifications, evaluation criteria and contract terms
- Contract negotiation, variation management and contract lifecycle oversight
- Risk identification, assessment and mitigation within a procurement context
- Stakeholder management, including working with legal, financial, health and safety and equalities advisors
- Producing Cabinet reports, management briefings and gateway review documentation
- Managing and mentoring procurement project staff
- Contracts registers, e-procurement portals and tender management systems

You'll also need practical exposure to the following:

- Sustainable procurement strategies and their application in construction or regeneration settings
- Consortium and cross-authority procurement arrangements
- Resident and leaseholder engagement within a housing or regeneration context
- Handling procurement challenges and supporting legal defence of award decisions

Experience with Procontract, Procardis or the London Tenders Portal would be beneficial.
